Helping Every Student Flourish
Students learn best when they feel understood, included, and appropriately supported.
At ISHCMC, student support is shaped around individual needs and developed in partnership with students, families, classroom teachers, and specialists. Our team brings together expertise in learning support, enrichment, counseling, English as an Additional Language, and technology integration to support learners across the full learning spectrum.
Support in Primary
In Primary School, counselors support students’ academic, social, and personal development while also providing guidance for families. They work closely with teachers and grade-level teams to help students manage challenges and participate confidently in school life.
Learning support teachers assist students with mild to moderate learning needs, working with teachers and families to review progress and develop strategies for school and home. From Kindergarten onward, students who speak a language other than English may also be assessed for EAL support, which can include in-class guidance, small-group instruction, and targeted language development.
Support in Secondary
In Secondary School, counselors work with students individually and in small groups, helping them address challenges that may affect their wellbeing, confidence, or learning.
The Learning Support team collaborates with teachers and families to provide differentiated classroom support, targeted short-term interventions, or longer-term guidance through Individualized Learning Plans. Students requiring English support receive a personalized EAL program focused on reading, writing, and speaking, with regular assessment used to monitor progress.
