Learning That Builds for What Comes Next
From Early Explorers through Grade 12, students at ISHCMC experience one connected International Baccalaureate education.
Each stage has its own purpose, while building on the knowledge, skills and independence developed before it. As students grow, their learning becomes deeper, their thinking more independent, and their choices increasingly their own.
For families, that means a sense of continuity. For students, it means knowing where they are in their learning, building confidently on what they already know, and being ready for what comes next.

One Connected IB Education
ISHCMC is proud to be Ho Chi Minh City’s first IB World School offering the complete International Baccalaureate continuum.
The Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme are connected by a shared approach to learning, while each responds to the needs of students at different stages of their development.
In the early years, students begin to make connections between ideas, experiences and the world around them.
As they move through the Middle Years Programme, they develop greater depth of knowledge, stronger learning habits and increasing independence.
By the Diploma Programme, students take greater ownership of their learning, applying their knowledge, thinking critically and preparing for the choices ahead.
The experience changes as students grow. The underlying approach remains connected.
Early Years to Grade 5
Primary Years Programme (PYP)
The Primary Years Programme builds the foundations for curiosity, inquiry, and conceptual understanding.
Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore meaningful ideas, and make connections across subjects. Through active, student-centered learning, they develop strong academic foundations alongside communication, collaboration, independence, and a genuine love of learning.
Grades 6 - 10
Middle Years Programme (MYP)
The Middle Years Programme helps students deepen their academic skills, broaden their global perspective, and become more independent learners.
Students explore connections between subjects and the world around them while developing critical thinking, communication, research, and problem-solving skills. The MYP provides increasing challenge and responsibility as students prepare for the demands of the Diploma Programme.
Grades 11 - 12
Diploma Programme (DP)
The Diploma Programme is a rigorous, internationally recognized pre-university qualification that prepares students for leading universities around the world.
Students study subjects in depth while developing advanced research, critical-thinking, communication, and time-management skills. Through academic challenge, reflection, and independent learning, they graduate prepared to succeed at university and contribute meaningfully beyond the classroom.
The ISHCMC IB Advantage
The IB continuum is more than a sequence of programs. At ISHCMC, it is supported by teachers who know their students, a community that values different perspectives, and opportunities for students to discover where their strengths can take them.
Teachers who know the IB and know their students Our educators are trained in IB approaches to teaching and learning, with the experience to challenge students, support their development and build on what they already know.
A strong record of achievement The Class of 2025 achieved a 98% IB Diploma pass rate. Behind every result is a student who has been guided to understand their strengths, take on challenges and make thoughtful choices about their learning.
Support that reflects the individual Students don't all learn in the same way or follow the same path. Academic support and enrichment opportunities help each student develop their strengths, address their challenges and pursue the goals that matter to them.
Learning that extends beyond the classroom The IB experience reaches into the wider life of the school. Through the arts, sport, service and leadership, students have opportunities to apply what they learn, work with others and contribute to their community.
Students leave ISHCMC with more than an IB qualification.
They leave with knowledge they can draw on, the confidence to approach unfamiliar ideas, the ability to consider perspectives beyond their own, and a growing understanding of what they can contribute.
Those are qualities that continue to matter long after the final assessment.
Making the IB Experience Personal
Give them the opportunity to learn in a community where they are known, challenged and inspired every day.
