ISHCMC’s story has always been shaped by people.
A student asking a question that changes a lesson. A teacher finding a new way to help a child understand. A family bringing a new perspective, tradition or idea to the life of the school.

Since 1993, ISHCMC has grown alongside Ho Chi Minh City and the generations of learners who have called it home. Each generation has inherited something from those who came before, while adding something of its own.
The Foundations We Build On
From the beginning, ISHCMC has brought together families from around the world through a shared belief in meaningful learning and strong relationships.
In 1998, the school became one of the first in Vietnam to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. That commitment to internationally minded learning has continued to grow. Today, students from Early Explorers through Grade 12 learn within the full IB continuum, building on an approach shaped and refined by generations of students, teachers and families.
What was built in the years before them becomes part of what today's students experience. And what they experience becomes part of what comes next.
Growing With Every Generation
As the community grew, ISHCMC grew with it.
In 1999, the school received accreditation from the Council of International Schools, recognizing its commitment to internationally respected learning practices.
In 2008, ISHCMC received NEASC accreditation, reflecting its continued commitment to strong teaching, student support, and continuous improvement.
In 2011, ISHCMC joined the Cognita family of schools, connecting our community with a global network while remaining deeply rooted in Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2017, the opening of our Secondary Campus created a dedicated environment where older students could deepen their learning, develop independence, and take greater ownership of their experience.
Each step added something new. Together, they have shaped the school our students experience today.
