What is IELP?
A unique program for students with limited academic English, IELP prepares highly motivated students for the rigours of scholastic life at ISHCMC and beyond.
How long is this program?
Through an intensive 20-week or 40-week program students will learn to fully engage with an IB-style curriculum covering Maths, Science, Language Acquisition, and Humanities, etc.
Who should take IELP?
Any prospective student from Grade 6-7 who wishes to study at an international school in Ho Chi Minh City and demands incentives to improve their English level for academic purposes.

The importance of IELP
An Emphasis On English Proficiency
The IELP curriculum uses the same framework as the mainstream International School of HCMC Middle Years Program (MYP), with an Emphasis on English Proficiency. While instruction is modified to meet the needs of students at varying stages of English language acquisition, the content of each lesson remains at the same high standard found in mainstream classes.
A Holistic Approach For Individual Success
Students receive daily individualized feedback by our teachers in the form of classroom projects, homework, quizzes, and tests in order to accurately monitor progress. A variety of online tools are also utilized, designed to effectively track improvements in the key skills of English reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Engagement With The Wider IS HCMC Community
Every student joining in the program is given the opportunity to engage with the broader International School of Ho Chi Minh City community. This includes involvement in co-curricular activities (CCAs), drama productions, music and athletics as part of the program requirement.
