Laney Rweyemamu - DP Coordinator

Laney Rweyemamu is a dedicated international educator with over 25 years of experience teaching in diverse global settings, including Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the United States. She currently serves as the Assistant Principal and IB DP Coordinator at the International School Ho Chi Minh City, where she is passionate about fostering an inclusive and empowering learning environment where students are motivated to succeed.

Having taught a variety of subjects, including MYP and DP Literature, Laney’s extensive experience spans roles such as Personal Project Coordinator and English Examiner for both MYP and DP programs. She has also served as Head of the English Department in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District in the United States.

Laney believes in the transformative power of education to shape compassionate, critical thinkers and inspire lifelong learning. With a strong foundation in building community, her leadership focuses on holistic growth, cultivating both intellectual and emotional development in students. Laney is committed to creating student-driven, innovative learning spaces where every child’s potential is nurtured. She holds a Master of Science from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor of Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, along with an English Teaching Credential from Chapman University.
