Join ISHCMC’s Leadership Team for Two Unique Events this March

Established in 1993, the International School Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC) holds the distinction of being the first international school in Ho Chi Minh City. With a legacy spanning over three decades, ISHCMC has become synonymous with excellence in international education, offering a dynamic learning environment that nurtures young minds and fosters a spirit of global citizenship among its students. As the first International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Vietnam, ISHCMC provides a rigorous curriculum that challenges students to excel not just academically, but also personally and socially, preparing them to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

This March, International School Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC) is proud to host two engaging events designed to provide deep insights into its exceptional educational offerings.

The first event will give parents a deeper understanding of their inquiry-based educational approach. “Coffee with ISHCMC’s Primary Principal,” on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 8:30 AM (ICT) is an exclusive morning with the Primary Principal, Kate Grant, to discuss how ISHCMC nurtures curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking through its innovative teaching methods. This is a perfect opportunity for parents to learn more about ISHCMC’s educational philosophy, meet the Primary Principal in a casual setting, and discover how their approach can benefit your child’s learning journey.

“Coffee with ISHCMC’s Primary Principal” will not only provide insights into inquiry-based learning but will also highlight the seamless integration of programs like the Intensive English Language Program into the broader educational framework, showcasing their commitment to providing an inclusive, supportive, and enriching environment for every student. It’s an excellent chance for parents considering ISHCMC for their child’s education to ask questions, engage with leadership, and experience the warmth and inclusivity of the school community firsthand.

Whether your interest lies in the immediate transition into mainstream education or in preparing for a future where your child can excel in a global setting, “Coffee with ISHCMC’s Primary Principal” is an invaluable opportunity to connect and learn more.

On the day following “Coffee with ISHCMC’s Primary Principal”, ISHCMC is excited to invite you to the upcoming Intensive English Language Program webinar on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 2:30 PM (ICT). The session will delve into the program’s methodologies, successes, and the vibrant community it nurtures.

At the heart of ISHCMC’s inclusive and forward-thinking educational approach is the Intensive English Language Program (IELP), designed to bridge language gaps and empower students for whom English is not a native language. The program is lauded by parents for its comprehensive framework, providing robust support to students who are not yet ready to transition into mainstream education fully.

The IELP is an academic program, designed to prepare students to succeed academically and amongst a student cohort of more than 60 different nationalities at ISHCMC. The aim of the program is to aid students with beginner-level English proficiency in adapting to the rigorous academic environment at ISHCMC. Through an intensive 20-week or 40-week program, students learn to fully engage with an IB-style curriculum covering Maths, Science, Language Acquisition, and Humanities, while improving their fundamental English skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

What sets the program apart from other international schools is that the IELP at ISHCMC aligns with the IB Middle Years Program (MYP), ensuring that while the instruction is tailored for varying English language proficiency levels, the content of each lesson remains at the same high standard found in mainstream classes. This content-rich program is inquiry-based and project-driven, offering students a comprehensive educational experience. Outside of academic subjects, students also get the chance to engage in Physical and Health Education, Arts & Design, and Positive ISHCMC initiatives, developing the whole child and preparing them for a smooth transition into ISHCMC’s mainstream MYP classes.

Don’t miss out—reserve your spot today for both or either event to explore the educational opportunities ISHCMC offers.
