Class of 2025: Beyond the Numbers: A Celebration of Growth, Excellence, and Global Readiness
As the International Baccalaureate (IB) results for 2025 are released worldwide, we are proud to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of the International School Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC) Class of 2025. These results represent more than academic benchmarks, they reflect individual growth stories, a thriving learning culture, and a deep commitment to nurturing both minds and hearts.
A Record-Breaking Year for ISHCMC

This year’s graduating cohort of 109 students marks a record-high in ISHCMC history, a testament to the school’s growing reputation as a regional leader in IB education. Among these students, 87 were full IBDP candidates and 15 pursued IB Courses, with 85 students successfully earning the full IB Diploma, resulting in an impressive 98% diploma pass rate. This is significantly higher than the 2024 global average of 81%, and an increase from ISHCMC’s 96% pass rate in the previous year.
Our students’ average score of 34 points places them 3.5 points above the global mean of 30.58, reaffirming the strength of ISHCMC’s academic program and support structures.
“While we’re incredibly proud of this year’s IB Diploma results, what matters most is how each student arrived at their success—through perseverance, curiosity, and a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.”
— Mr. Marco Longmore, Head of School

A Culture of Multilingualism and International-Mindedness
One of ISHCMC’s standout achievements this year is the remarkable number of students earning the IB Bilingual Diploma. With 53% of our Diploma graduates awarded this recognition, ISHCMC students significantly outpaced the global rate of 23%. This milestone highlights our commitment to multilingualism, cultural fluency, and global citizenship – essential traits for thriving in today’s interconnected world.
From Early Learners to Empowered Graduates
Our 109 graduates this year represent a diverse range of educational journeys. Some graduates began their educational journey with us at just two years old. Many have been part of our IB Continuum, moving seamlessly from the Primary Years Programme (PYP) to the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and into the IBDP, benefiting from a consistent inquiry-based approach.
These varied pathways have nurtured a cohort of adaptable, internationally minded individuals, each empowered to pursue their unique interests and goals. ISHCMC’s distinct model emphasizes personalized graduation pathways, supported by expert teachers, IB coordinators, and university counselors who help each student flourish according to their strengths and ambitions.

Stories Behind the Scores
While we celebrate the numbers, it is the stories behind those numbers that truly define this cohort. From Theory of Knowledge (TOK) essays that challenge assumptions to Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) projects making a real-world impact in local communities, our students have demonstrated leadership, resilience, and empathy in action.
“Our learners are not just passing exams - they’re writing research papers that matter, leading environmental initiatives, composing original music, and organising mental health awareness campaigns. This is what the IB is designed for. This is what ISHCMC delivers.”
— Ms. Laney Rweyemamu, IBDP Programme
Their journeys reflect not just academic mastery, but also wellbeing, global awareness, and purpose-driven learning—core pillars of our educational philosophy.

Looking Ahead
As they now prepare to join top universities around the world, the Class of 2025 leaves with more than a diploma. They leave with a foundation built on our values: curiosity, achievement, resilience, and empathy, and the skills to lead, collaborate, and contribute meaningfully to a rapidly changing world.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to every graduate, every family, and every teacher who made this journey possible.
