Library
The ISHCMC Library provides key academic research and curricular support to the entire school community. We also promote a love of recreational reading through our extensive and varied fiction collection. Our large collection consists of a variety of subject-related materials, reference sources, recreational literature in several languages and periodicals, together with CD-ROMs, online databases and internet facilities.
Access
The Library is open on Monday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM and on Tuesday to Friday from 7.30 AM to 4 PM. It is a place to read, do research or relax with a book. During the recess break only Middle School and High School students have access, while all students from grades 2-12 have access at lunchtime and after school until the library closes. Our Library Homepage can be accessed through the OLC at your convenience.
The Library timetable is partly fixed and partly flexible. On this timetable, all Junior and Elementary School classes have regular weekly Library visits, with grades Early Education 4 to grade 2 taking part in Library lessons led by the Librarian or the Library Assistants. All other teachers can book their class a Library session at any time that is convenient.
Borrowing
Students, teachers and parents can borrow at any time within the operating hours of the Library. Early Education & Junior School students are encouraged to borrow during their scheduled Library times with the guidance of the Library Staff.

Read.gov encourages students to discover the world of books:
http://www.read.gov
Read.gov, from the Library of Congress, is an online portal of free reading resources for children, teens, and even adults. It features online versions of out-of-copyright books for children, including “Mother Goose,” “The Arabian Nights,” “The Secret Garden,” “A Christmas Carol,” “The Raven,” and other classics. It also provides webcasts of authors, such as “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer, as well as writing contests, suggested booklists, teaching resources, and more.
