Celebration of Music

The Celebration of Music is a much anticipated event which occurs in December each year

The concert is an opportunity for all students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 to share their music achievements from Semester 1.

Repertoire is selected from a range of genres: from classical to world and popular music. Student compositions are also included in the programme as these are authentic demonstrations of the developing understandings and skills of the students. All students are given ownership of the concert by creating their own actions to songs, improvising instrumental sections, and sharing their own work. Students with more advanced instrumental skills are given an opportunity to shine as they are often invited to play a solo or special part on their instrument.

The Celebration of Music is a concert which showcases every student’s individual ability, as well as their ability to perform as an ensemble. It is truly a celebration of what music means to us as a school community – it is inclusive, meaningful and rewarding for all involved.
