Visual Arts

There are a number of events organized during the year to exhibit the work of students.  These included the Annual Arts Exhibition with works of students from Early Explorer to Grade 12 and the IB Art Exhibition, the culminating Exhibition of the examination work of our senior students.

Visual Arts Week 9th – 13th November, 2009

This year students from the Elementary, Middle and High School will be working on a collaborative project to create a mural for the wall beyond the canteen. The concept for the mural is ‘Unity’, referring to our cohesive school community and the collaborative nature of the project. Middle School Students will start by taking photographs of other students from EE2 to grade 12 in a variety of poses that express their individuality and aspects of life as a student at ISHCMC. The photographs will be manipulated by Grade 9 students to create silhouettes using Adobe Photoshop.  The figures will be projected onto the surface of the wall, allowing the composition to be built up gradually as it is drawn. It is intended that this mural will enhance the area and that it will represent those people who use the canteen the most – our students. All grades from 2 – 12, and some Junior school classes, will either participate in lessons during Artsweek or have the opportunity to get involved during the week in sessions after school.

Watch this space evolve either here on the website or at school.
