The last few days have been times for celebration for our students. On Friday 27th May the Graduation of the Class of 2011 took place at the Opera House. We extend our congratulations to these senior students on their achievements and wish them every success in their further studies at university or college. On Friday 3rd June, we held a Graduation Dinner for students of Grade 8 on completion of Middle School.

Additionally, there have been Assemblies and events to celebrate the culmination of projects and activities at various grade levels throughout the school.
On Wednesday 8th June we will celebrate the success of our students in all aspects of school life at Presentation Day. Parent should have received specific information from each section.
At this time I would like to take the opportunity to thank the teaching faculty for their dedication to our students, in and outside of the classroom. Their commitment and enthusiasm provide a learning environment at ISHCMC filled with opportunities for our students.
Unfortunately, a constant aspect of any international school is change and the inevitable mobility of parents, students and teachers. This year a number of teachers are leaving the school: Ms. Catherine Archer, Mrs. Ruth Bishop, Mr. Stephen Bishop, Ms. Jeanne Borman, Ms. Julie Bourget, Mr. Paul Carpenter, Mr. Neil Clarke, Ms. Jennifer Clifton, Mr. Robert Hazlehurst, Ms. Clare Hildrew, Mr. Daniel Horwood, Mr. Kang Jin Lee, Ms. Dawn Lovig, Ms. Deborah Monk, Ms. Jennifer Pieritz, Mr. James Pinkard, Ms. Jean Simmons, Ms. Nicola Sum, Mr. Simon Thom and Mr. Douglas Willard.
I thank them, on behalf of the school community, for their contributions during the past years to the lives of our students and the development of the school.
Thank you also to the parent community and especially those of you who have actively supported the work of teachers and students in the classroom, at school and PTO events.

And last, but not least, our students. Thank you for contributing to an active learning classroom environment each day. Congratulations and well done to each and every one on facing the challenges and opportunities that were presented during this school year and on your individual attainments, in whatever sphere of school life. School Reports Lost Property School Fees New School Year This is my last Newsletter at International School Ho Chi Minh City as I am stepping down from the position of Headmaster. In August the school will welcome Mr. Alun Cooper, formerly Headmaster at UNIS Hanoi and currently Headmaster at the International School of Antwerp. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who are and have been involved and supported the school over the past twelve years. ISHCMC is a well establish, accredited international, in which our multicultural community is very proud.

School Yearbook
A copy of the school Yearbook for 2010/2011 will be given to students on Thursday 9th June. I would like to thank Ms. Thuy, Marketing Manager for her work in coordinating with the many contributors, teachers and students in producing this year’s publication.
School reports will be issued to students on Wednesday 8th June. Reports or other school documentation will not be available prior to this date unless previously requested in writing. Reports not collected on Wednesday will be placed on student files for collection at the beginning of next school year.
There is a large collection of lost property – clothing, lunch boxes, water bottles, school materials – in the lost and found cabinets. Parents and students are invited to sort through this for any articles that may have been misplaced during the term. Any articles left unclaimed after Friday 10th June will be donated to charity.
Parents are reminded that all school fees for 2010/11 must be paid in full. According to school policy no school documentation or reports will be given to students whose fees are in arrears. Please contact Mr. Tony Shadwell, Business Manager (tel: +84 8 38989100 Ext: 505; email: business@ishcmc.edu.vn ) if you have a concern in this regard.
