Welcome Message from the Headmaster

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I would like to extend to you all a warm welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. Whether you are a returning family or a family that is joining us for the first time, I hope that you have a stimulating, enjoyable, productive and challenging time with us over the course of the next few months. I look forward to meeting you on campus very soon, but if there is a need for you to discuss anything with me, please feel free to ask my Personal Assistant, Ms. Bao Thy, for an appointment.
I had hoped to focus my first message to you on matters that were entirely positive, but such is not possible. I have to inform you that the High School building was not handed over to us on 1st August as had been promised as the appropriate licences had not been obtained. We have been working very closely with the contractors and the process of securing the licences has been started. We will keep you informed on a regular basis when we have been successful and thus, able to occupy the new classrooms and teaching spaces.
Meanwhile we have a contingency plan to house all classes in place. Some classes will operate from the Elementary School, some from in the Middle School and some will be temporarily housed in the City Community Campus. It is far from ideal and I really do apologise for this delay. However, the teachers have realised that this is a short-term delay, that the start of the school year is now upon us and they have supported this contingency plan in their customary professional manner. We will make this work.
I look forward to being able to convey news of the move into the High School wing as quickly as possible.
Sincerely,
Alun Cooper
Headmaster
