International Baccalaureate Middle Years Progamme:

The IB Middle Years programme, for students aged 11 to 16, provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, and become critical and reflective thinkers. Specialist staff offer EAL support in grades 9 and 10 to all students whose first language is not English.

International Baccalaureate Programme:

In Grades 11 and 12 students follow courses of the International Baccalaureate Programme (IB). Standard Level courses consist of 150 hours of instruction. All senior students complete the Theory of Knowledge course, Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) projects, and an Extended Essay or Personal Research Project.

IB Completion and Average scores:

Assessment in the MYP and IB is criterion based and the final level of achievement is given on a scale of 1 - 7, based on the IBMYP & IBDP general grade descriptors. Formal narrative reports are sent home twice yearly, in December and June. Due to the transient nature of our student body and their diversity of educational backgrounds, ISHCMC does not compute Grade Point Averages (GPAS).
